Meet our horses
First came Flair, who was an 8 year old registered Saddlebred mare, trained as a second level dressage horse, now to be the eventing companion to a 9 year old budding equestrian. Since then she has been a hunter/jumper, trail horse, fox/drag hunter, eventer and the queen of the pasture. Ally came in 2007, a 2 month pregnant 3 year old registered halter broke Clydesdale mare. Now a carriage pulling, fox/drag hunting, trail riding, mane and tail rubbing sweetheart at 1800 lbs., she loves to do it all. Maybe next is packing? Ally's son, Alex was born in the back of the barn, April 19, 2008. Around the first of May 2011, when Alex had about 4-5 hrs. under saddle, we started practicing with the Northwest D.R.E.A.M. Team, an all draft horse drill team and never looked back. He has also fox/drag hunted, trail ridden and is now getting ready to join Ally pulling stuff.
We like to stay involved in the horse community. We help hitch for Ed Henken's Northwest Clydesdales, are members of the Backcountry Horsemen of Washington, Whatcom County Chapter and charter members of the Friends of Sunset Farm, a group formed to fundraise and help manage Sunset Farm Park, a Whatcom county park for equestrians. We also ride in the Northwest D.R.E.A.M. Team, a draft horse drill team
